As a child I believed there was a
"the man in the moon".
I love the idea that when
separated from those you love,
you need only look up into
the gentle glow of the moon and
their absence seems a little less distant.
I remember watching the moon landing, and
thinking one day we might all have the chance
to visit this far away place.
Now I am content just knowing
there is an anchor in the sky holding us all together.
and see the super moon,
Lovely thoughts! However, are you saying there really isn't a "man in the moon"?? Oh no!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
aaaaa...oh there absolutely is a " man in the moon".
DeleteMy husband is an astronomer so we often look at the night sky. Our children still talk about watching the eclipse of the sun on Christmas Day. The wonder and awe far outweighing the gifts that year. Priceless.
ReplyDeleteSuch great photos! It was very cloudy here and hard to see, so I am really enjoying your photos!
ReplyDeleteI believed that ,too. In my Dad's letters during World War II to my Mom he would tell her to go outside and they would be standing under the same moon.
ReplyDeleteSmiles, Dottie
A lovely memory your parents shared with you. Thank you for sharing it with me.
DeleteFabulous photos Bonnie . . . I am going to post mine tonight. Very hazy weather here and mine are not like yours!
ReplyDelete(Is that someone I see walking on the moon in that final photo?)
Thank you so much Lynne. Oh and he is waving!
