I don't do it often enough, but I love to entertain. I enjoy everything about it.
I enjoy designing the table,
planning the menu,
polishing the silver,
and opening my door to welcome dear friends and family.
I hope you are enjoying the company of those dear to you during this holiday
season. I believe it is especially important now
that we seek joy and peace in the company of others.
I agree! And, I'd love to have you at my table.

My dear Bonnie, as an educator you have been on my mind over the past few days. Recent event’s gave me pause on decorating for the holidays. Somehow it felt disrespectful to display splendor when so many were facing bleak days. When I asked my husband whether he cared if I skipped the fa la la this year, his answer was it was not the décor but how I reacted to presenting our home during the holidays. End result ~ warm, subdued, serene this year. And yes, at the end of the day new words : healing, faith and hope. Visitors welcome. May you also experience all the joys of the holidays.
ReplyDeleteLynn, Thank you for all you thoughts. This has indeed been a sad week. The events of last Friday have weighed heavy on the hearts of all of us. I have faith in humanity... I do believe we will rise no matter how difficult. My thoughts and prayers remain with those who have lost so very much. Merry Christmas! Bonnie
DeleteGorgeous table. I am totally stealing it next year!
ReplyDeleteLovely Bonnie . . . I like the large pine cones in the mercury glass and the assorted silver/pewter candle sticks . . . beautuful! And being with friends . . . how sweet it is.
