I'm Thinking!

Did I mention I might need to add a new bookshelf somewhere?  I'm thinking I need a room designated for books.....a home library.  I've often thought of moving things around and making my seldom used dining room a library.  I found a few designs I might consider.

I don't know.  It might be a bit too much?

I have the dark brown leather sofa.

Love the black and white.

his might be my favorite spot.
I could see myself curled up here with a book,
or sitting at the writing table jotting a quick note to a favorite friend.

Do you have a favorite?

Just some Monday night dreaming!

  2. the 3rd one was my very most favorite!!

the home office that i always refer to in my blog is really my dining room. if your ever "bored" look at my nest pictures.

it's my dining/crafting/blogging/home office room and i can still use it for a dining room for the holidays!!

  3. I say go for no. 1. That way you won't have to be adding additional shelving for awhile and, if bored, there are great bannisters to slide down!! = )

    Best,
    Bonnie

  4. Hello Bonnie:
How really splendid to have a proper library where all, or at least most, of one's books could be housed together. Perhaps you should convert your dining room or, possibly, combine the two with all of the walls book lined. Make a dream come true!

  5. I haveto say the third and fourth are my favourites. They look very comfortable and cozy - an ideal place to read a good book. :)

  7. Sue, My dining room is quite small. We seem to have most meals in the sunroom. It is lovely in the spring and summer, and with the fireplace warm and cozy in the colder months. I am only daydreaming right now though.

Bonnie, Wouldn't sliding down those bannisters be the best fun ever. Oh my! I might have to convince a neighbor or two to sell me their homes. I would most definitely need to add a little extra space here and there.

  8. If you have the brown leather sofa I would definately go for the dark moody look...a comfy chair with the perfect reading lamp would be a little corner of heaven.
Don't think too much about it...go for it!
I love library/dining rooms, they are so cozy.

  9. Oh I love, love, love this idea Bonnie! Actually, I did it, just haven't posted it yet. We never used our formal dining room, so I moved hubby's office in there, and am making his old office, which already has built in cabinets and bookshelves into a library/sitting/reading room. Go for it, I can't wait to see :)
