I'm a little out of my league.....computer league.
As you probably noticed I am changing the look here at Living Life. It was beginning to feel a little cluttered and claustrophobic. Since I am not outside playing in the dirt on this most gorgeous day I have been fiddling around on the computer, pretty much messing things up. You understand...it ask are you sure you want to do this?.... and I select yes. Yep that kind of fiddling and messing up. (too much time on my hands I'm afraid)
I threw the old template away and opted for the "simple" design. (Sorry if you were trying to view while I was trying everything on, it sort of made me a little light headed too.) I like the simple layout, but I'm kind of a centered type of gal. I would like for the header photo to be centered or stretch the total width. All suggestions and advice welcomed......
:) go into Design, Template Designer, Advanced, scroll down to Add CSS then play with the number to get it centered. I think the higher the number, the more the header goes towards to right. This should work as long as the photo is actually the header...or is Living Life the true header? I only know that this works if the words and the picture are all one picture/collage.
ReplyDeleteI think I may be getting confusing...try that though, it works for me.
sorry but i'm waiting for you to perfect the change to ask you for a tutorial. i'm always afraid to attempt change.
ReplyDeletebest,
bonnie
I like the new look. Just keep playing!
ReplyDeleteoh bonnie....the last time i made changes to my blog i cried for hours, and promised myself i would never do it again!! i don't remember anything, just the crying!!
ReplyDeletei love this look, i prefer simple also!!
you are right about the sign for the book store. normally i would not have included it as i am not a big reader!! xo
ReplyDeleteI noticed it on your last post and I like it. I am always afraid of fooling with Blogger, as I have heard some horror stories from others. I would love to change mine some and give it a fresh new look, but my fear is that as soon as I as I say yes to the question "Are you sure you want to do this" (or something similar), my blog would disappear into a black hole. I need to get some courage.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job, and I do love your header picture.
Bonnie, hi. I like the look of your new format, the colour and the photo. I recently had a Blogger crisis when I found I was switching/switched to a new format, but it's all worked out. It looks like a nightmare at first, but it DOES become clear.
ReplyDeleteHello Bonnie:
ReplyDeleteWe can offer nothing in the way of advice. Having achieved our template, largely by chance, we are terrified to alter anything, let alone make improvements for fear of it all disappearing!
On balance, we prefer the simple look without too much going on.
Hi Bonnie, good luck with all this. I wish I could help. Once I got my header situated I was so relieved! I went through at least 3 or 4 before I got it right. And I had a little help from a friend. How about hiring a student who can help with the more advanced elements of design. I just spent a whole morning learning about the new version of blogger dashboard. I was nervous but it all worked out in the long run.
ReplyDeleteI'm no techie, I kind of fooled around with my header photos and font and thank goodness did not completely screw it up. I found I can always go back and edit things if they come out funky, which they do at times. I think the first comment by Sarah is what I have done. Anyway, I love your new header photo, I think it looks great, so you seem to be doing ok!
