A Morning's Commute

Earlier this week I drove out of my driveway into the fog.

Beautiful, mysterious, enveloping.
I could have easily allowed myself to be led astray,

but I had a destination and responsibilities.

For everyone living in the northeast, you have been in my thoughts.
I hope you are safe and warm, with a good book close at hand.

And may you wake to a crystal clear morning.

  1. Lovely early morning pictures. We've been enjoying some gorgeous red skies during our commute. Unfortunately they have accurately heralded days of rain! Jx

  2. The fog brings a certain mystique . . . when looking at it in photo . . . although more hesitation and fear when driving inside it all.

Love the intriguing photos . . . they invited me in like the reading of a good book.

  3. Our son lives in Providence. Fortunately, they were sent home from work around noon on Friday because very soon, three feet of snow fell on them! As of last evening, they had shoveled out the driveway and still had power.
I especially like your last photo and, like you, hope those in the northeast are awakening to a brighter day.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  4. You have shown another side of winter, Bonnie. We have seen dense fog here for a few mornings too. May you have a restful Sunday.

  5. I love the fog...it's so mysterious yet dreamy. Don't all the good stories have a good fog scene.

I'm so thankful we don't have snow, but I am saying some prayers for the folks shoveling out this morning. xo

  7. Bonnie, thank you so much for visiting my blog, it is always lovely to have new visitors. Firstly, let me say, your "about me", could have been written by me, because you have nailed me to a "T"! Your fog photos are delish... we get fog here once in a while, but not often, I miss the "pea soup" fogs of Scotland, there is just something about the fog that puts a calmness on the moment! Cheers~

  10. Gorgeous pictures! I especially love that first one - can just imagine what is waiting inside that fog. One of my favorite books from childhood is called Fog Magic~
