We were blessed with our favorite weekend guests.
the diva, Raven |
When these two appear so do their people,
our daughter and son.
the jester, Waldi |
I've spent the last few weeks playing in the kitchen.
pumpkin scones |
So good with tea.
apple pie |
What would I serve for dessert?
Final answer...pecan pie!
I played around with putting together the perfect table.
I added and
subtracted.
Then changed my direction...
a little less complicated perhaps.
The moments didn't last nearly long enough.
Before I blinked it was time to for a final group photograph.
Oh it is just so hard to get everyone's attention when there is
a treat bag involved.
And it was time to wave good-bye.
It was good to see my children...our time together was way too short.
Mom, I miss them already!
Me too Willie!
I loved all your tablescapes. My favorite was the dried hydrangea and pottery. It gives it a Fall Tuscany feel. I enjoyed my two granddogs this weekend. I'll have to write about them soon.

It's always hard to say goodbye to family who live far away. But so sweet when they come to visit.
ReplyDeleteI love your silver candlesticks, and I think the subtracted, final centerpiece is just gorgeous.
Have a good week, Bonnie.
What talent you have! Everything is just lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo much goes into preparing for a visit and then, all too quickly it is over. I am sure your children and their four legged family had a great time. They certainly were treated to some tasty treats.
Awwwww .... such sweetness. Looks like you all had a wonderful time.

Pumpkin scones, oh, how delicious they must be! The table is elegant, not overdone, just right. And your guests are terribly good-looking, what a perfect day!
ReplyDeleteHello Bonnie:
ReplyDeleteThis was such a heart warming post! You clearly had thought and planned long and hard for the visit of your son and daughter and they would, we are sure, have felt very spoiled by all the time and trouble which you had taken. And, although such events are over far too soon, they leave one with such a warm feeling inside and special memories to hold dear.
The food which you prepared looks to have been absolutely delicious and we would not mind betting that there is not a crumb left to show for all your hard work!!!
Jane and Lance, There is nothing I enjoy more than doing for my children. I am fortunate in that they are always so appreciative.
DeleteDon't you love it when the kids visit? I often feel like it's a holiday and I go a little crazy with food and my table also. I have been looking for a pumpkin scone recipe and I will try the one you featured. They look so good!
ReplyDeleteSunday, I hope you try the scone recipe. It was so simple and delicious.
DeleteI would have extended my stay if I were offered all those delicious looking baked goods! What a beautiful job you did. Nice you were able to spend some time together.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dogs . . . I like your center piece thoughts . . . great to have family home, how fast the time flies by . . .
ReplyDeleteLynne, The old saying time flies when you are having fun is so very true.
DeleteSo glad you had such a nice visit with your family, and those pups are all so cute! The table looked beautiful and that food all looked delicious! Thank you for your kind comment about the storm.

Willie looks so pleading asking for his dog treat, his hosting skills are obviously as good as yours! Very expressive ears in your (dog) family! I'm sure that you all had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI just love playing house!! I'd have a hard time choosing among your table settings. What joy to have the children at home, including the four legged ones.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
